EXPERTISE: Moon Palace Cancun Sikh Wedding | Indian Wedding at Moon Palace Cancun

Rehearsal Meeting

A day before your Indian wedding in Cancun, we have a mandatory rehearsal meeting with the wedding couple, their parents, significant members of the family and resort planner to go through the timeline of the wedding day sequence.

Details of the Baraat, Milnee, bride and groom’s processionals, along with start and finish times are confirmed.  Resorts can sometimes be expansive, stretching up to a mile long, and coordinating early morning logistics is extremely important.

At the rehearsal the couple is ‘walked’ through the entire wedding protocol, including Matha Tek, Kalgi removal,  Ardas, Palla Ceremony, walking through the 4  Lavaan and with prolonged sitting assistance.

Feel free to check out our Sikh Priest Mexico FAQ page for answers to common questions or concerns you may have regarding your Moon Palace Cancun Sikh Wedding or ceremony elsewhere.  Over the years, countless couples have thanked us for the introduction and rehearsal meeting.

Oversee Setup

On the wedding day, before sunrise, we arrive early at the ceremony space to make sure the decor is set up perfectly according to the agreed specs.  We oversee the respectful transformation of the space into a Gurudwara-type ambiance for your Sikh Wedding in Cancun.  After the completion of the decor and room setup, we arrange and set up the Kirtan and Altar/Mandap Stages with the religious materials.  We also make sure the sound system is set up for a  pristine sound during your Moon Palace Cancun Sikh Wedding or at any other ceremony location.

Baraat & Milnee

Many families choose to have traditional cultural wedding ceremonies before the wedding. This can include the groom’s sisters putting on the Kalgi and Sehra, and the Baraat.

Even at a Sikh Wedding Riviera Cancun ceremony, the groom can arrive on a horse for the Milnee Ceremony with his family, relatives, and friends dancing alongside the symbolic dhol player.

Prior to the Milnee we assist and delegate the tying of rumaals, headcoverings.  This is followed by a brief introduction, protocol overview of what to expect during the Cancun Indian Wedding Ceremony.

The Milnee Ardas is recited which is followed by the typical exchanges of garlands and hugs between the family members.
